Some nights, sleep evades me. I usually turn to my comfort reads on such days but for some reason, I chose to borrow this book from Kindle Unlimited to read. Perhaps the editor’s name helped the choice.

Author Interview: Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni (Author of “The Palace of Illusions”) at #JLF2019

The first book I ever read of Chitra Divakaruni Banerjee was The Mistress of Spices, much before it was made into a movie. I came across it at the local library and the title had intrigued me immediately. If The Mistress of Spices started my journey into her works, the one that captivated me was The Palace of Illusions, her take on The Mahabharata and of course, in it, the character of Draupadi.

Author Interview: Reshma Qureshi (Author of “Being Reshma”) at #JLF2019

I had heard of Reshma Qureshi and her book Being Reshma in the month preceding the Jaipur Literature Festival 2019. A few friends had posted about the book, and on searching further, had seen some updates about the woman behind the book as well. It was DDS who wanted to meet Reshma when we came to know she would be at JLF2019. To be honest, I didn’t know what we would ask her. But when we got the chance to talk with her, it was a different experience.
